The Distinguished Young Woman of Ohio for 2018 is Elizabeth Ohl, from Alexandria.
Elizabeth’s achievements include: Outstanding Achievement in Honors Geometry • Outstanding Achievement in Algebra II with Trigonometry • Outstanding Achievement in Honors Biology • Outstanding Achievement in Biology II • Outstanding Achievement in Latin I, II, and III • Outstanding Achievement in Honors Chemistry • Outstanding Achievement in Honors English III • Christian Witness Award • Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Mathematics and Science Medal Award • Valedictorian Class of '18 and First Honors (all high school years)
In addition, Elizabeth’s activities include: Volleyball - School and Club • 4-H - raise and show rabbits and hogs • Piano • Drama Club/Cabaret • Latin Club - treasurer (2016-2017) and President (2017-2018) • Student Council - treasurer (2016-2017) and Vice President (2017-2018) • National Honors Society • Kairos - student leader • Animal Sitting - especially dogs • Key Club
During the summers, I water flowers at The Weathervane Playhouse. • I bus tables at the fish fries at St. Edward the Confessor Church during Lent. • I help the elderly at the annual Ox Roast at the Newark Maennerchor. • I have been an altar server for the past nine years at St. Edward's Church. • I have helped pick up garbage along the highway for Key and Environmental Club.
